From North Pole, AK (yes, that really is a place, and yes, Santa Claus really lives here. He is on the city council to be exact.) to Austin, TX. Follow along as we make our new rental house our own little getaway on the outskirts of the big city. I will be sharing projects, decor ideas, and DIY’s to help you make your space your own, whether big or small, regardless if you own or rent. We will be exploring all of the creative things you can do whether you think you are crafty or not.

I love to create. Anything from sewing to painting to repurposing old items. We will be taking very little with us in the way of furniture or decor to our new home, so there will be so much to do once we get there. I will be exploring the flea markets, thrift stores, and antique shops for the perfect items, projects and ideas. We will reuse, repurpose, paint, sew, garden, build and craft. I will share all of my DIY projects and, hopefully, give you a little inspiration to try your own.

I think my decor style could best be described “vintage industrial,” but really we are very eclectic and anything could happen. I also love anything steampunk, Victorian, or mid-century. I have worked for the past few years as a vendor in the farthest north antique store, Blue Door Antiques. Seriously, if you ever find yourself in Fairbanks, AK, you will not want to miss a visit there. This has only further fueled my love for the unique and unusual. My husband’s passions include anything to do with motorcycles or old cars. He is a certified MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) RiderCoach, avid adventure rider and road racer. We also love to travel and to entertain.
